Design Challenge and Design Ideas
Bricolage is a cultural insights agency. Using human insights, living methodologies, and savvy strategy, they work in partnership with their clients to unearth authentic insights that deliver actionable strategy. Our brief was to create a brand that is both human-centred and future-focused, in line with the agency’s mission of unearthing authentic insights. The key elements of the brief called for a bold identity that reflected adaptability and creativity.
The design intent was to communicate Bricolage’s dynamic nature through human typography, authentic imagery, and a logo that embodied discovery. White space was used to signify a blank canvas, representing endless creative possibilities, while the adaptable colour palette ensured the brand could evolve based on the imagery.
How the brief was fulfilled
The completed project incorporates key design features such as the transformation of the ‘O’ in the logo into a window, symbolising cultural exploration and discovery. This window motif is a key creative element, allowing for layered, intersecting visuals that reflect diverse real-life experiences. The brand is dynamic, with motion integrated throughout, ensuring a future-facing, evolving presence. The brand’s colour palette is directly influenced by imagery, providing authenticity and fluidity. Significant attention was given to the brand’s flexibility, ensuring it is a living entity that adapts to its context. Collaboration was central to the project, with the client actively involved in shaping the narrative and visual outcomes.
