How the brief was fulfilled

Your Nominated Client
Forged Irish Stout have been our client for the last 2 years since the inception of the company and we have brought them from an idea through to the huge worldwide brand that they are now.
The main reason that we think they are one of the best, if not the best, client to work for is because they allow us the full creative freedom to develop their designs, branding, ideas, advertising, experiential spaces, products, etc. into the direction that WE think would work and they have full trust in what we do.
There are countless examples of work that we’ve completed for them over the 2 years as we are the main creative agency for the brand, but below is a very summarised list of some of the stand out projects that we were honoured to have led the creative on and have executed:

  1. Branding and packaging. We designed and developed all their branding, packaging and can design and have developed it to adapt to different markets. The can has recently won Gold at World Drink awards for best label design and we had full creative freedom when it came to the design of every aspect.
  2. Product design. Over the 2 years Forged Irish Stout have given us lists of items that they were looking for to release into trade, including taps, handles, glassware, merch and even furniture. Further than that we developed countless ideas ourselves of what would look amazing for their brand and they fully encouraged development of them all through concept through to prototyping and production. Examples would be a one of a kind new generation stout glass that we developed for them, specifically designed to showcase different aspects of stout using new types of fabrication machinery, new types of beer tap towers to enhance their more mainstream series of tap towers.
  3. Advertising. Through the years we came up with countless ways of advertising for Forged, and they encouraged us to develop them all and fully funded all executions. We developed the idea of creating a custom animation to launch the new pint glass design which was fully done manually, hand drawn and hand shot, something a client would NEVER pay for as it is laboursome and expensive, but they were fully behind us as they understood the beauty of it. Then a series of projections we executed across UK when the stout launched there, projecting provoking visuals onto key buildings and sculptures (e.g. hand with a Guinness tattoo holding a pint of Forged).
  4. Photography and visual style. We developed and executed all their photography over the years, celebrating the product in each shot.
  5. Interiors. We came up with, designed, and built a number of portable pubs on wheels for Ireland, UK and USA as well as pop up spaces and even their Brewery itself.

We couldn’t be more proud to be working for such a brave and trusting client who constantly encourages creativity and strives to be different in everything they do.

The client’s advocacy for design is most evident in the license that the team had to create a high-craft animation with contributors from all over the globe. This serves as testament to the trusting and collegiate nature of the relationship between the creative agency and the client, and the role they see the design outcomes playing in their ultimate success. Beyond the craft, the animation narrative – at times somewhat spicy in the direction of another famous black n white drink, speaks to a client unafraid to push the boundaries, bestowing creative license that is rare and exciting for a creative team to sink their teeth into.
Forged understand the power of design and collaboration with their partner. This understanding is clear in the finished elements of their product and campaigns.
