Design Challenge and Design Ideas

This collection is Autumn/Winter 2024, and is titled Life is Beautiful, inspired by a new found confidence in finding myself untethered. It is about fashion, fun, female friendships and dreamers. Playfully rebellious with hand drawn jewels printed at the Richard Quinn Studio in London. It is about celebrating freedom and femininity. a rethinking of old fashioned textile craft techniques through boning and bias cutting and using a combination of print, colour cut, to celebrate the joy of feeling free and being here.

How the brief was fulfilled

Everything was made in our Dublin based studio, we explored accessory rucksack pleated wing pieces, bias cut silk velvet with old school corsetry sewing stitches and bodice patterning. layers of tulle and taffeta pleated by hand, hand knitting and embroidery techniques.

I returned to the start, from when I started my label and looked at the jewellery print adding some new pieces to the print, it was important to me to see these pieces with memories embedded in the fabrics. These are clothes you can celebrate in, they are party and playful and energised. And the Queen of the collection is our North Star T-shirt that isn’t meant for production but is a homage to Sinead O’Connor, a icon of the label.
