Modular wiring solutions revolutionise the way electrical systems are designed and installed. A new range of connectors was required by Modula which used a common core, but would allow different cable configurations to be used, for both in-line and panel mounted connectors and which were rated for 25A. All in a package smaller than the competitors, that could be assembled quicker, first time right time.

How the brief was fulfilled

The Modula product line was designed to provide a range of versatile solutions for electrical installation that are easy to install and maintain. The strain relief housing ensures flexibility in installation design and allows for quick and secure connections without the need for special tools or training.
The connectors features a range of expansions that provide a diverse selection of options for different installation requirements. Additionally, the Modula solution is protected against mismating and provides visual shape and colour cues, ensuring that it is assembled correctly, and operates reliably and securely during its lifespan. These features and benefits make the Modula product line ideal for a variety of applications, including simple circuits, quick replacement of defective units during ongoing operation, and flexibility in installation design.

A core connector block was designed, which would take different male and female mating pins, depending on whether the requirement was for 25A or 32A, or whether the connector was pass through. Using the common block and specific pins, different back housings and modular rings were used to give cable mounted or panel mounted solutions in the smallest form factor possible, while still meeting all certification requirements.
