How the brief was fulfilled

O’Donnell O’Neill Design wish to nominate Press Up Hospitality Group as our 2022 IDI Client of the Year.
As one of our key Clients for over a decade, Press Up push our Designers’ creativity on every Project and trust us to ensure their vision is delivered to the very highest quality and attention to detail.
A strong Design Concept, quality of Design finishes, crafted workmanship and attention to detail are intrinsic to every Press Up Project Brief. Their inspirational approach to new Projects and ventures has allowed the O’Donnell O’Neill Design Team to create some of Ireland’s most innovative Design focussed Hotels, Restaurant and Bars.
A successful implementation of the very best Projects is dependent on the symbiotic relationship, understanding and trust between the Client and the Designer. Press Up allow us the opportunity to express our Creativity and Design skills in the knowledge that good Design solutions can bring them a commercial edge in the ever-competitive Hospitality and F&B environment.
As we exited out of Covid restrictions, Press Up hit the ground running with several hugely successful Projects completed in the last 12 month. These include The Dean Hotel Galway and Mama Yo Restaurant, Thomas Magher’s Pub and The Foxhunter in Dublin.
The Dean Galway was a truly remarkable Project to work on with Press Up. Following the success of Dean Dublin and Dean Cork, the 100 key Dean Galway offers luxurious F&B and Leisure spaces including Sophies Rooftop Terrace Restaurant Terrace with its commanding views over the City.
The contemporary styled Boutique Hotel was constructed over a section of the former Galway to Clifden railway dating back to 1890. Press Up understand the challenges and limitations that surround developing Projects that incorporate or abut sensitive Historical structures. Importantly for us as Designers, they fully understand the inherent character and architectural detail that our vernacular architecture can bring to commercial Projects.
In our 20 + years as a Design practise, we know that it is important that we build long lasting relationships with our clients, who are often highly driven, entrepreneurial, risk takers and who have a love for all things Design. As Designers we must interpret the Client Brief, distil their ideas and at all times be honest in our appraisal of the Project in hand. With Press Up, we are very fortunate to get the opportunity to travel widely with our clients to experience diverse and exciting Cities and environments that challenge and question the Design norms.
We believe current Press Up Projects on our drawing board will be some of our best collaborations with them yet. We are working closely with them on Interior Concepts for Clerys Rooftop and The Leinster Hotel Dublin (on the site of the former Howl at the Moon), Loftus Hall Wexford, Dunboy Castle West Cork, Mayfield House Waterford, and The Dean Hotel Birmingham (on the site of a former Methodist Hall dating back to 1904).
