How the brief was fulfilled
Jennifer seeks to design garments that are versatile enough to be worn across various seasons, styled in multiple ways, and layered during colder periods. The Irish linen womenswear collection includes super soft tumble washed linen shirts, dresses and limited edition pieces that feature Jennifer’s signature embroidery. This wearable range of timeless wardrobe staples is meticulously designed – each piece is finished with French seams, natural buttons and made locally in small batches and to order.
Company information
Renowned for her sophisticated collections of Irish linen homewares, from delicately embroidered napkins to luxurious Irish linen tablecloths, textile designer Jennifer Slattery has extended her love of Irish linen and launched her first fashion collection.
Founded in 2011, Jennifer’s journey began with her initial design featuring her grandmother’s hand-drawn cutlery on napkins, a creation that has become a timeless bestseller. Her design philosophy is deeply influenced by nostalgia and celebration, evident in the motifs inspired by her grandmother’s cutlery and the unique wildflowers that embellish her pieces. The brand specialises in crafting everyday items built to endure, with each product made from premium Irish linen and meticulously hand-finished in her studio in Dublin.

This piece harmoniously integrates Jennifer’s original motifs that served as the foundation for her business, the cutlery that embellished the napkins, and her classic womenswear collection, resulting in a distinctive and playful creation. Love the personal human connection, nostalgia and family history that is woven into the design aesthetic and craft.
Slattery’s use of linen of varying weights and weave patterns shows her development through textiles into clothing in an organic, playful and original way.
Love the use of Irish linen, a heritage fabric but also has a far lower impact than the majority of natural fibres. The focus on craft and local making is great and the epitome of slow, considered fashion to last a lifetime.
